Morning :)

Ive recently applied to become a registered childminder and my husbands and myselfs checks have just came back clear,as i knew they would ;)

I was just wondering what happens now? Obviously social services has received a copy..... Its went through very quickly but now what happens and does it take around 6 months before I am registered? (THATS WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD BY OTHER CHILDMINDERS I'VE SPOKE TO AT TODDLER GROUPS........ )

I have NVQ level 3 in Childcare,Learning and Development,Child Protection,Behaviour Management and First Aid so far.

Is there anyone else new to the registration process and inparticular anyone in Northern Ireland?

xx

Hi! Just wanted to say welcome! I live in ireland so cant help with time frames etc as it is so different here much more unstructured but I am sure someone will come along soon and advise!

This board is a great support to me, never feel stupid asking anything and it's great to have somewhere to sound off where people understand!

Hello and welcome to the forum

I am another one who can't answer your questions as no idea what the procedure is where you live.

Hi and welcome!

It was the crb checks which held it up for me, a whole 5 months!!

Have you had your pre reg Ofsted inspection?

I'm not sure what the course you need to do is called now, have you arranged for this?

Can't think of anything else you'd need as you seem to have most of it covered already.

Hi and welcome. I think it depends how busy OFSTED are it took me about 6 months from start to finish but took only 2 months for a friend of mine who was registered recently.
