car expenses

hi for the last couple of yrs i av been putting mileage through my accounts but i was resently told that if i stop putting mileage through in april n start putting other expenses through eg petrol, valet etc it would be ok

the main point of the question is i got my car on finance solely for work could i put the monthly cost through or a % as i do use it myself aswell also my car insurance is with morton michel and is specially for childminders which is costing my more than basic insurance could i put that through

You can only change from claiming mileage when you change the car. You can claim the interest element of the finance charge separately though.
