how old do assistants have to be if they're never going to be left alone with the children but will just be another pair of hands. eyes and ears.

How about if they are going to be left with the children for short amounts of time ie school runs etc

thank you

I'm not sure what the law is on this but personally I would prefer someone over the age of 20 (I have had students in the past and they aren't that dedicated).

To be crb'd they have to be 16 or over and you can't guarantee that you wont be leaving them alone...... answering the door, phone call, loo break, emergency with a mindee.

Hope you find what you want

ps I have an assistant and it's great :)

16, but can't be left unattended. We registered our son at 16 (now 19) and will be registering DD when she turns 16. Great when you need an extra pair of hands :D
