I look after a 5 year old 2-3 nights a week as his single mum is a night shift worker in a care home. Pick up at 8 from his home and drop them both back to their home at 7am

I just wondered if many others had anything like this? Or if it is quite unusual.
Have been on the forum for 6 months now and hardly ever see overnighters mentioned apart from people starting out....

I have overnights on my certificate as I originally had it put on for a child whose mum worked nights and daddy in Iraq with forces. Haven't done overnights for 5 years now.

I do it regularly too. My 5 yr old mindee stays over between 1-3 nights per week. Her Mum works away. Last week had her from Tuesday morning at 7am until Friday Night at 6.25pm!!

I do - single mum who works abroad every couple of months, I have her for ten nights in Feb - not usually this long though, usually 3-6 nights in a row. I've had her since she was 4 months old though and she's like one of the family and just mucks in with my own children, she's a poppet.

i believe that overnight is classed from 10pm till 6am so any hours worked in those hours you need to be registered for over night care.

i am registered for overnight but i have only had to use this in an emergancy once, so im keeping just incase im needed ever. you never know what might happen
