Although I have posted about this already - I think it might have got 'lost in the system'

So here is the feedback that I have given to NCMA, Worcestershire LA and other NCMA volunteers who are also going to undergo a pilot inspection

Thanks Penny.

Looks good to me as it is about how I work anyway :) home based, not toddlers everyday and children managing risks, social and independence skills being important - come to mind. My mindees are normally 3 and under so very relevant to me.

well done on the 5 hours too :D

Of course - but do remember - that the pilot inspections are based on draft documents - so could be some changes before final versions published

Thanks for sharing. was interesting reading. Quite glad as it seems the inspectors want us to be working how I already am so not much to change. Just to get my head around the new EYFS when it comes out!

Thank you so much Penny, really helpful to have this to refer to and good news about the little legal things not getting you marked down.
I don't know how you do all the things you do, you seem to have limitless energy :clapping:

Sorry Penny I can't open it either, Sarah usually helps me out with these things so hopefully she will be around soon. I must get on an IT course soon, bit lazy really as one of my parents is an IT tutor.

Thank you Penny, interesting read! It all sounds pretty sound to me. I wonder if there will still be the same confusing differences in inspections, or if they will all be singing from the same sheet now? Or at least to the same tune. Or at the very least to the same beat. :D

I would like to think that the inspectors will all be on the same song sheet - but fear they may not

However I did bring up the issue while I had a senior HMI in my lounge

She said ' If people feel that inspectors are making personal judgements that are not based on the EYFS (either the current one or the revised one from Sept) they MUST complain - otherwise Ofsted will not know these things are going on. I mentioned that people did not like having to speak to the actual inspector on the phone when Ofsted follow up the complaint - because the find it intimidating - she said complain about that as well.'

She went on to say that inspectors will be receiving in depth training on the revised EFYS and there is no reason for the por judgements to be made.

Therefore I am going to stick my neck out a bit and say - If anyone wants to make a complaint to Ofsted about recommendations or actions that do not fit into the requirements of EYFS - then I will be happy to help with wording and 'be there' to provide support and advice as needed

I feel the same, I think we are all doing what the new requirements are anyway, its putting my faith back in the system, that home-based childcare is really the best way :D
