I am about to start childminding in just over a week, I have three 5 year olds lined up to start with me, one girl and two boys. My youngest child is 14 so I am having to start buying toys and books again. Can anyone recommend some good books for 5 year olds and any toys that they love?

Thank you !

lego, magnetix, big cardboard boxes (never too old for these), dolls, doll houses, roleplay stuff, craft stuff, to be honest I'd wait until they start before buying much as it depends on their interests.
For books use your library, don't buy, childminders here are allowed to take out 35 books at a time so really no need to buy and you can change them when the ages of your children do.

There's not a lot of time with after schoolers so I would hang fire, ask them what they want and trawl a few car boot sales at the weekend.

My lot like Lego, puzzles and drawing, watching a bit of TV, sometimes computer time, playing in dens... :D
