Wind - make windmills - kites - streamers with ribbons

Rain - measure in a rain gauge - stand outside with tin foil over your head and listen to the rain - splash in puddles - paint with puddle water - learn nursery rhyme 'Doctor Foster ....'

Rainbows - paint a rainbow - sing rainbow song

Sunshine - talk about sun protection - make sun glasses - Happyland seaside

Snow - build snowmen - use shaving foam and upva glue if no snow available

Fog - use flourescent materials

Thunder - sing I hear thunder - use a thunder drum

jigsaws and books from library

Hi, We had a snowy morning last week. The lo's favourites were the 'snow cave' - mosquito net over a folded single duvet with polar bear, penguin and husky dog cuddle toys and artificial snow in tuff tray with plastic artic animals and diggers/lorries

I am just starting to plan for Spring and we are going to do things like:

Planting seeds
Going into the garden/out and about to look at the changes in the flowers/trees etc
Talking about the fact it is lighter later
Make some animals or flowers for the smaller ones out of salt dough
Pretend to be flowers growing up out of the ground

Only early days so that's as far as I've got for now. Hope that helps, clearly some for older children than others.
