Just a quick question. Has anyone had an email from a Sean Adriaanzen, Skylo Freight. Capetown. Hes asking for my charges and other relevent details for 2 children. Says they are moving to my town in October. This may be quite genuine, but with so many dodgy emails going around you can never be sure. I am going to ring CIS in the morning just to check.

I get lots of emails like this that are very similar

To be honest I would not give it the time of day and would delete it

But thats my view

I delete them as well...

In fact I seem to remember a Cape Town one the other week.

I had a lovely one from South Africa the other day... I have come into millions of dollars in a bequest from a long lost aunt!! The excitement was almost overwhelming ... as I deleted it

Definately delete it, there is a scam going round on child minders at the moment, they end up sending you a very large cheque as a retainer fee as they will say they are moving near to you, you deposit the cheque into your bank account, they then say they can no longer come, you refund the money and they then bounce the original cheque which can be done for 60 days after cashing it or something:angry:

probs doesn't make sense but in short - ignore the email lmao:laughing:

THIS IS A SCAM

they send you an over large amount as a retainer and then cancel their place and ask you to refund the money which you do because somehow it looks like its cleared into your account but it hasnt and you're stuffed dont go near any of these.

treat any inquiries from overseas as dubious, some even send photos of kids, never send money even as a "refund"

rather than delete it, forward it to your local cis/childcare partnership/development officer, and also to trading standards.
