making xmas tree decs any ideas?

Hiya

does anyone have any ideas to make decorations to hang on xmas tree with mindees

They are only 4 and have short concentration span - using glitter is a must lol:D

You could use salt dough??? Then paint with sparkly paint.

How about cutting small shapes out of card, (bell, tree, angel ) and letting them decorate with glitter and sequins...

I was looking through an usbourne christmas craft book earlier and it had decorations made from bread.....

Cut out the shapes, make a hole in them for the ribbon and leave out overnight..... then paint them the next day

Google. Angel template Emma Calder. And download free template, children colour in / decorate then you/ they cut out to make slot together angel. Simple but really affective

Cut out cardboard hoop . Decorate with cheap potpourii ( and glitter of course ). Stick red ribbon on bottom and you have a Christmas wreath.

Cut out shapes from felt, stars, heart, tree, then thread gold thread around the outside, maybe glue some sequins on

Second the salt dough!

You could also bake biscuits and use Xmas theme cutouts, then decorate with silver balls and pink glitter etc you can get fir cake decorations. Put a small hole in them for a ribbonto go through

Tie or glue straw together to make stars

The Rudolf from lolly sticks is very easy and effective, looks nice hanging on the tree :)

We collected leaves

Then we pasted them with glue

Then tipped glitter over them back and front

We then made a hole in them and tied ribbon through to hang on the tree

They look really nice and they are simple to make, you can involve the little ones in collecting different leaves too

we cut out a bell shape from an egg box, painted red and glittered, hung ribbon and little bell in the middle, easy and quick for lo's x

ooohh love the leaves idea.

i have all the stuff to make salt dough but saving it for the holidays with the schoolies as the babies will just eat it :)

im going to cut shapes out of card and let them decorate with glitter glue this week.

def. salt dough and clay. they are easy. cook the dough once cut in the micro for 30 secs then when hard and cool paint and glitter, job done. just remember to put a hole through the top before you cook it :thumbsup:

Cut out bauble and bell card shapes and marble paint them then sprinkle with glitter... very effective and fun to do :thumbsup:
