Hi, Im really confused. Ive been reading stuff on here and have noticed that pre reg minders have had mindees during their pre reg visit. This is probably a really stupid question but i thought you had to be given the go ahead from ofsted before taking on children. Can someone please help to clarify this for me.

I think you might be getting confused.
Pre-reg minders might have their own children at home during their pre-reg visit and ask advice about whether they will be able to concentrate properly with them in the house.
Up to 6 months after registration you then have a grading visit and many childminders ask advice again about whether their own children should be around or whether they might be disruptive.
