New Years Eve charges

Hi guys,
I have been approached about working on New Years Eve (afternoon and evening) which i am happy to do as my partner is already working... damn shift work! haha!
So anyways, for normal childminding i charge £4.50 per hour, for evening babysitting i charge £7.00 per hour, what would you recommend i charge for New Years Eve?!
Any thoughts would be muchly appreciated :) xx

I'd charge at least time and a half.

It depends what they mean by evening - if it was late then I think double time would not be unreasonable

This was my inital thought process too but then i found out that it would be for three children so did a few sums. Bear with me and please ignore amounts written in my first post, i am now thinking alongside my bank holiday rates instead...

6 hours 30 minutes - £42.25 per child bank hol rate (£6.50 per hour)
6 hours 30 minutes - £126.75 for all three children bank hol rate

5 hours 30 minutes - £15.00 per hour flat rate before midnight £82.50
1 hour - £20.00 per hour flat rate after midnight £20.00
TOTAL £102.50

There's only £20ish between the two but would you be willing to pay that amount just so you can have a night out!?

My thoughts are also leading me towards... if i get asked to go out closer to the time i want to be able to think "yes i am working, yes i'm giving up a night out but at least i'm getting a good pay for it" - does that make sense?!

I wouldn't charge per child as it's babysitting.

Yes I would pay it if I wanted to go out!!

I've always found NYE a big anticlimax, but having said that I wouldn't want to be babysitting.

You can always have a much cheaper night out in the new year lol!
