Can anyone help me, on the rules of minding a 3 year old (4 in November 08) who will be in full time nursery as of September 08.

Am I right in thinking that she is classed in the 5 - 8 year old section and if this is the case what would happen if I had to have her in the hols

thanks for your help in advance

Is it a state nursery at a school and funded by the government or a private one?

I dont know if i am right BUT she would count under 5, because it is a nursery and not a school as in reception class, so i think she would therefore remain in the 0-5 until she enters reception class then she could be 5-8, if that makes sense.

I hope this helps

Yes, I think Jen is right too!

Might be worth double checking it with OFSTED.

They are only classed as 5 when they are 4 in full time school in the reception class.

The younger children of the year in other words...

Hope that helps :D

What Sarah says

If she is 4 in November she won't be starting school until the year after. She will be classed as 5 when she starts school
