Hello, I am just wondering what you actually need to purchase for insurance/membership wise? I dont get any start up grant ( ) in this area so I am trying to keep costs down.

Anything that is optional - what are the benefits?

Thanks :)

You need to be insured - either by Morton Michel or NCMA.

If you insure with NCMA you need their contracts and other paperwork as well.

If you are with Morton Michel you can use your own paperwork.

You also need to get insurance for your car and inform your house insurance that you are childminding - both may cost extra :D

Whatever you spend on childminding insurance you can put on your childminding expenses.

if you are charged more on your house/contents/car insurance, because you are minding, then you put the difference between what it would have been if you were not minding and what they charge you, if you see what I mean.:)

As far as i'm aware you can use your own paperwork with the NCMA to but if you don't use there contracts etc they wont give you the free legal support if anything goes wrong.
