I store my buggies and spare car seats in the garage and this morning found that some of them have started to go mouldy! I'm gutted. My new T3 triple is in there :panic: I literally have no where else to store them. Is there a way to stop it happening?

Unfortunately not unless you can heat the garage, and keep it aired (opening the door every day)

Keeping them really clean should help too

It doesn't stop it, but making sure they're completely dry & clean when you put them away does help.

I store mine in the boot of the car over the winter as that helps ease the problem

Ensure they're completely dry when you put them in and then it's a case of air circulation. Is there a window that could be left slightly open ?

I have had the same problem. Its not nice especially when youve paid a lot of money for these items. Unfortunately other than leaving them outside I dont have anywhere else other than the shed or garage.

I take mine out every couple of days and put them up in the bedroom during the day then put them back at night, seems to help

could you cover them with something, like a dust sheet or a couple of black sacks?

Thanks for the suggestions. I have an understairs cupboard in the kitchen that currently houses the freezer. I have suggested to DH that we put freezer in garage and my stuff in cupboard! I think it might take a bit of persuading but my argument is that the freezer won't go moudly and my stuff costs more to replace :D

A dehumidifier may do the job, they are a little pricey from £100 new, get them les son ebay, but they help a lot

I've had the same problem, I store mine outside under the raincover and another cover. I did find the otherday however, that those disposable disinfectant kitchen wipes seems to get alot of the mould off. Hope that is of some help!

I wonder if you could spray them with something like you spray on boots to waterproof them?

Just thought I'd mention I read somewhere that if the straps on carseats go mouldy you should not use them as it weakens them
