Food glorious food play activities

Was inspired recently at Sure Start messy play session this week.
It featured:


a massive platter of green spaghetti and tongs and plates around a table,



boats sailing on a sea of multioloured pasts shapes in a sand tray



chocolate smelling and looking playdough



different coloured fish ice shapes and blocks in a huge tray to push around and watch melt


5 different massive jellies to spoon out and play with (eat!)


cornflour and water in a huge tray with spoons and cups etc.


a 'volcano' of porridge oats on a big floor tray with dinosaurs buried in it and red glitter 'lava' sprinked around

Thanks for sharing! I love messy play (sometimes more than the kids do!) I got some fish ice cube trays from Ikea. Almost looking forward to Monday now to use some of your ideas! x

OOh am loving the dinosaur play idea - wasit just porridge oats in a tray with diosaurs and glitter? how did they make the volcano?

Yeah j wanna try that too. Tesco on line doesn't seem to sell food colouring tho.
The oats were just heaped up in a big pile butterfly
