pick up costs?

I think (someone will correct me if i'm wrong) that you can not charge for picking up etc as that would mean you would be classed as a taxi...and that would be :eek: .....Keep a book in your car and write down the mileage for every childminding trip and claim on your tax return.

The only thing you can do is charge a slightly higher hourly rate to offset the increased costs you will incur as a result of this kind of collection. You can't charge for it on top of your hourly rate as you are not a taxi - but you are within you rights to charge a slightly higher hourly rate.

I charge an extra hour for each drop off or pick up that is contracted.

You can charge what you like so just add an extra to the contracted total. You dont have to state on the contract what it is for so long as you and parents know. :)
