Just out of interest, how many of you use a temperature probe when reheating or cooking food?

Had my Food Hygiene Inspection today and got "Good" :clapping: but she did suggest I might like to get a probe especially as I sometimes re-heat batch cooked food. When I did my course we were told it wasn't really necessary as long as we make sure food is piping hot so not really sure if I will get one.

YES I USE ONE TOO, YOU WILL BE VERY SURPRISED JUST WHEN YOU THINK THE FOOD WAS PROB HOTTER THAN YOU NEED IT TO BE USE THE PROBE AND IT MORE OFTEN THAN NOT DOES NOT REACH THE TEMP REQUIRED.
I WOULDN'T SERVE ANY REHEATED FOOD WITHOUT A PROBE .
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:clapping:

hope. never used one and never would. I've never poisoned anyone yet and am perfectly capable of judging when food is hot.
I used a chicken probe thing a few times but by the time it told me the chicken was "safe" it was dry as a bone and about the size of a quail!

I was restaurant chef for 15 years and I still use a probe at times.

I use on and record it down usuing Sarahs e book :D I think it's always best to record anything these days as if their was any parent to accuse of food poisoning youve got back up to confirm that food was heating correctly :)
