Hi, I'm a bit unsure of the kinds of focus activities that I can do for my lo thats just turned 2 !! She loves playing with the dolls and Peppa Pig figures. I write a daily diary for her parents with the thing we do but am unsure of the kinds of 'official' planning i have to do !

If anyone can help i would be very gratefull :D :D

Thaaaank yooooooo

its just planning what resources to have out.

so say she loves dollies you could plan to have

baby bathing activity - to introduce PSED/KUW skills
dressing the dolls - PD skills
dolls which talk and move when you press buttons or feed them will introduce ICT (KUW) skills.

Peppa pig sets will introduce smallworld play (CD) and snging peppa pig songs and dancing is great for CLL and CD.

Focus activities and group planning tend to be best for the 3 year olds and over who need more structure to their days.

For the little ones I'd carry on with free play following their interests and learning styles.

You can write a lot of it up later as long as you can show there's lots of resources available for the child to use.

Hth :D

I hope its on your risk assessments - Oooozingness of head, actions to be taken - head bandage to be carried everywhere to hold in the ooozingness until it can be eeeked out at an appropriate time - when and where it was checked and when it needs reviewing ha ha haaaaaa :-)

(can you tell its been a long week)

My daily/weekly planning for my LO (2 next month) consists of free play (she also like dolls etc, and Cbeebies figures (ITNG & Tweenies) & l'il people house), with regular toddler groups and trips out (park, etc) and a bit of painting & play dough thrown in for good measure!

I agree with Sarah in that in depth activity planning is only really worth doing for 3's & above. For my 3 YO we did things like planting seeds, keeping caterpillars, etc (and books, painting, etc around the subject) as she really loves nature :D

I think for 2 YO's it is important to focus on communication (talking & listening) & getting out and about (socialising at toddler groups etc)
