Forum calendar?

Apologies if I should know this but what is the forum calendar next to 'new posts' ?
people's names and numbers behind them? Clicked on one but it told me nothing!

I've never actually noticed the calendar there before.

Having clicked on it now (and tested it out on myself!) it looks as if it's a calendar of members birthdays and their ages.
