We have had 2 enquiries this week for 8 month olds.

The first wants as of November - Tues, Thurs and Friday 8.30-3

The second is unsure on her days starting January - 3 days 8.30 - 5.30

We already have a visit arranged with the first enquiry and she has mentiond that we she will be visiting other childminders.

The second enquiry I have yet to reply to. She has mentioned in her email that she likes our profile and is very interested in visiting us. eek

Not sure what to do. Should I mention in my reply that we may have the space depending on the outcome of our visit with the first enquiry. The second enquiry will bring in a better income but not until Jannuary.

Unfortunately we only have 1 spare space for an under 1 as we already have a 10 week old.

Some dvice would be great. Never had this problem before :panic:

Thanks

I think you need to interview both sets and see who you like best and go with whomeever comes back to you first with that deposit.

Are they both 8 months old now?

If so, then come January they'll both be 12 months old, which means 2x1 year old plus 1 under 1, that's 3 under 5 which most people are allowed no problem.

You'd need a variation for the November starter anyway to have two under 1, wouldn't you?

I co mind with my mum so we are allowed 6 children of which 6 can be under 5 and 2 under 1.

I got it wrong the first one is 7 months old.

So are the children 8 months old now, or would that be their age when they were due to start?

Sorry starting to confuse myself now

The first will be 9 months when she starts in Novemeber
The second will be 10 months in January when she wants to start

so in january they will be 11 months and 10 months

Had at spaces we have available and can only take on one of them :panic:

I would get them both to visit and let them know when they come that you only have one space and if you like both families then its first to sign up and pay a deposit, gets the place

Thanks for the advice all.

Both are coming to visit and I will let them know that there is other interest and go from there.
