HHead bump

Mindee just fell andbumped his head. He has a bruise on his forehead.

I've filled in an accident form, one for his folder and one for parent. Also printed off an aftercare letter of head injuries and what to look out for.

Is there anything else I need to do? do I need to take a picture of the bruise?

I sometimes ring and tell parent if I think I need to prepare them for something that is not very nice to look at - I have never taken a photo of an injury but not a bad idea - saves doing a body diagram

I've never taken a photograph either and don't think I would unless I was concerned my word might be doubted by parents.

With head injuries I keep a check on child through the day and note on accident forms how they are, whether they've eaten, slept, been tearful or their normal cheery self - just to show there wasn't any further concerns during their time with me.
