:panic: :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

I have applied for a variation for two under 1's and, as I haven't had my first graded inspection yet, they are sending someone out on Wednesday to see me and to decide whether I can have the variation.

I am so nervous so am looking for any tips as to what to do/say? Has anyone else been in this situation?

I really, really, really hope I get it as I don't want to see one of my babies leave me :(

I had a variation inspection.

It was very short. Inspector was only there to reconfirm what I had put on the variation request form. She had a very quick look in the garden (as I had gone out there with the children whilst she was filling in paperwork), and never looked at any of my other paperwork.

Personally I thought it was a complete waste of the inspectors time, but procedure is procedure.

My cm friend had a visit when she applied for a variation.

The inspector looked at risk assessments, emergency evacuation plans etc and had a look round the house to see equipment and how much room there was. She spoke to my friend about how she would manage the children, how she would get them out & about etc.

She'd been very nervous about it, but said it was all very straight forward & the inspector was lovely. She didn't want to see anything that wasn't relevant to the variation.

Relax and good luck!

I have my variaotion visit in 1 hour - so nervous. Hope I get it as I would be so sad to see the baby leave (and the money will be missed as he is full-time!)...

Wish me luck

I have to apply for a variation soon, is there a certain form I need to fill out or do I just write a letter to Ofsted?

Yes Cherry there is a form. It is available in the Free Downloads at the top of the Forum. You can email it to them and if you do that it doesn't need a signature on it.

That's what I did - used the form in the Free Downloads. I only had a visit because I have not yet had my first graded inspection. A lot of the time they don't come visit you, just decide on what you have told them.

Good luck!
