hiya guys,
as the title says really i work with an assistant at the moment we can care for 6 under 5 and 4 over 5.
i was looking into getting another assistant to help out with school runs, we have 6 under 5 but we never seem to have school children, has anyone ever applyed to ofsted to care for more than 6 under 5 when working with two assistants? and ever been granted more?

so you can have 10 children at one time? Sorry if I'm reading that wrong.
I co mind with my mum and thought if we wanted more than 6 children and more than 2 adults we would need to get permission from the council.

Im intrested to find out more about this. A few more children would boost our income.

hiya yes we are allowed 6 under 5 and 4 over 5 at one time when working with a assistant, i never have 10 children at one time though as i can't seem to get the before and after school children as there are breakfast clubs round our area. you have to have planning if you cater for more than 10 i think not 100%.

No I don't think your number increases I think the most you can have is 12 - 6 in early years and 6 under 8's. If you search working with an assistant at the top you will find a lots of information. Most councils request planning permission if you care for 6 or more children.
