For those who charge by the session

I would like to charge by the session

8am - 1pm
1pm - 6pm


For those of you that also provide care by sessions, what if a parent only wants care until 3pm do you still charge for the whole session as you know you wouldnt fill the other three hours.

If your charging by the session then surely that's what they pay for the whole session otherwise your charging by the hour.
Personally l wouldn't do it because if a parent finished work at 3, l would be asking them to pay for 11/2 hrs childcare they didn't need.
There's probably lots of childminders on here that do session payments and it works for them.

i only charge hourly rates or full day rates, one of mine leaves at 3pm so pays hourly rate.

There doesn't seem to be the call for half days in my area so I charge a full day rate only for LOs and these places are full (thank heavens).

why not just have a minimum number of hours per day that you need to charge for :)
