Just got my first mindee

Just had a visit from a parent looking for childcare starting Tuesday for 2½ hours a day. She was so impressed with everything that she wanted to sign contract there and then! I said she should think about it first but she was adamant.

Thing is I have another parent booked in for Monday wanting full time care from next month so I now need to cancel her. Never cancelled anyone before so not sure what to say. TBH, I am glad I have got this little boy starting on Tuesday for a couple of hours a day as it still gives me chance to spend time with my two lo's before September. DS starts full time school then and DD will be 2 in August.

I am so excited at having my first mindee - sorry if all this seems garbelled, I am just so chuffed :D :jump for joy:

I know how you feel about cancelling, I had to do this last week, but I asked around and found 2 minders with spaces to suit so when I phoned I had bad news first, but the good news! Mum was great about it and my friend is going to take her lo.:)

Just phone the other parents and explain that you are sorry but the space has now been filled so you thought it best to cancel......

I am sure they will understand.....you won't be the only minder they were planning to see.

I know! I have been waiting for a while and then I get two on one day :D

I have rang the other parent and explained and she was really nice about it. I gave her the name and number of another CM in the village though I wasn't sure if she had spaces, but she has been minding for 9-years so may know some others.

I feel really great today - the sun is shining, I have my first mindee, letting the other parent down went well.... :excited:
