Hi - thanks for the suggestion to look at allowable expenses on the free downloads page
HOWEVER I have just read this statement about allowable expenses;

protective clothing; for example aprons but not everyday clothing even if bought specially for the business

I am going to order some work tops with my logo on - a uniform - surely this IS a business cost as I am only using it for business purposes so even though I am wearing it 'everyday' I wouldn't be wearing it if I wasn't a childminder?

can someone advise? - it is in a way protective clothing because it is going to stop my everyday clothes get wrecked from paint etc and it is a promotional/ advertising item so would like to claim the cost!

Yes you can claim for logo clothing. Not for your ordinary clothes though.

There are varying viewpoints as you will see from this thread -

I would ring, ask, get the name of the person you spoke to and keep it safe :D

I was told that you could claim this as long as there is a logo embroidered
