Hi, I have been offered a full time job as a chilmdminders assistant. It is 40 hours a week till November and then it goes up to 5 days so will be 50 hours a week. I just wanted some advice really about if I should be self employed or employed by the childminder? We're both a little bit confused about it all :panic:

I'm sure someone will be able to confirm it (I've never used an assistant), but I think that if you are working solely for one childminder, then you have to be an employee of theirs. You can only be self employed if you are available to work for, and do work for, other minders as well. As soon as you become tied to one particular minder, you have to be employed by them.
You could always phone the tax office to check.
