Hi Everyone,

I am hoping to take my son who is 1 and a 2 year old mindee swimming today but i am concerned about ratios, is it 1 to 1 which means i will need someone with me?

Thanks Jo

Think it varies from pool to pool so I would give them a call, obviously you will need to do a risk assessment if they say it is ok but from past experience I have found it hard work taking two little ones swimming

I have just got this info off the bromley site.
Children aged 0 to 3 years will be accompanied by a responsible
person on a 1:1 basis.
• A responsible person may take responsibility for up to 2 children aged
0 to 3 years if both children are wearing approved armbands or life
vests**
• Children aged 4 to 7 years will be accompanied in the water by a
responsible person on a 1:2 basis.
It may be best to phone the pool and just check you could also see if they have a risk assessment copy of theres.
Hope this helps
Kim

I would telephone the pool first - they may want one-to-one for this age group.

I would echo that - ring the pool

our local pool has a 1:1 ratio for under 2's (yes even for parents of twins)
and then its 1:2 for children between 3-8 (and non swimmers)

I have taken my mindee swimming but my neighbour came with me to be reponsible for my son.

Risk assess, permissions and get full info from the parent about the childs abilities, confidence etc.
