Hello. I have done my ICP etc and hope to get my application forms sent off this week (been waiting to have work done on house). but just wondered when you need to sort out insurances, mcma membership etc? It seems silly to pay for it while I am not registered but will ofsted want to see the documents at my pre reg inspection?

no they wont.

Even when you get your reg certificate through theres no saying you will get mindees right away. I wouldnt get your insurance till you know exactly when you will starting work.

Yeah be carefull with insurance. I am with ncma & its a yearly insurance. So no point sorting it if no mindees as it will be a waste of time/money.

Ncma do allow you to date it for future use, but only for 4 weeks max.

Once you are set up with children, don't forget to organise your car insurance as well!

I made an enquiry about my car insurance - I am with Direct Line and they said I can change to business use when I start childminding and my premiums won't increase. I was quite impressed with this or is the norm?
