I have just had a message to say my school time only mindees want to give notice as they no longer need me.
They obviously have to give me notice but would this be 4 weeks paid notice ? or would it just be finished now as they go back to school in 4 weeks ?

It depends on your contract. NCMA ones stipulate that notice periods do not include holiday periods , so notice would be from sept.

They can give notice now but they should pay four weeks full term time fees to cover the notice period on top of any retainer they may be paying for the holiday. NCMA say they a period of Notice should not include their holiday or your holiday.

Payment in lieu of notice means the amount they would pay you for a 4 week period ( if they have a 4 week notice period!). It means they do not actually have to come for the 4 weeks obviously but that parents still need to pay you!

i'm sure NCMA have a special provisoin for t-time only contracts. I would call them hon.
