What's your general route for settling in sessions? How many do you do? How many with/without parents? How many are free? How long are they normally? x

I usually do 2-3 with parents staying (approx 30-60mins)

I then offer 4 hours settling in free of charge and then any extra after that at me normal hourly rate. All depending on availability

i do as many parent visits as wanted (within reason) then 4 hours free settling in to be taken as parents wish - 4 x 1 hour or one 4 hours or 2 x 2 hours. will do more if needed but parents pay over the 4 hours :)

I do two or three starting with a couple of hours and working up to the hours the child will be doing.

None with parents here, to disruptive to other children and daily routines.

As many , or few , as the parent is comfortable with really , but only the first 4 hours ( usually as 2 x 2 ) are free.

I don't charge for any settling in sessions and I do as many as I think are necessary until the child is settled.

We will do pretty much the same as others have stated, which is what ever the parent and child needs.

We have a new 8 month old starting in October and his settling in period starts tomorrow with a 1 hour visit each week for 4 weeks with parent, then he will do a 2 hour stay and play session for 1 month, this will take us upto Oct when he starts full time.

If Mum feels he needs more then we will do more, as at the end of the day it is called a settling in period and that is what we want the LO to do.

Each settling in period is differant as each child is differant and we taylor the sessions around the needs of the child. It has been know for Claire to even visit the LO at their home, this really helped with one of our Autisitc LO's.

We do not charge for the settling in sessions.
