Hi, a mum has offered me a regular fortnightly babysitting job from 6 till she comes home (10ish) includes putting kids to bed etc (she doesn't mind if they stay up/when they go to sleep) She thought 7.50 an hour was fair. Does this seem right to you?

I find babysitting a hard one. She's offered you more than minimum wage which is what an agency I'm signed up to pays.
Are you happy to do it for £30 an evening? If so take the work

DD charges £5 an hour and doesn't put children to bed...

If you are happy with the amount you are offered and the children are happy then go for it! :D

I babysit for a family. I wont do weekends, so I only do 1 evening a week (mon-thurs). I charge £6.50 per hour, with a min charge of 4 hrs.

I wouldnt do weekends but if I did £7.50ph seems ok. Ensure you charge a 4 hour min. She may come back at 9pm and only pay you 22.50. I wouldnt say working a friday night was worth 20 quid.

I charge £7.50 an hour for evening babysitting, it then increases to time and a half after midnight - i usually find this gets the parents home at approx 11.55pm as they don't want to pay £11.25 an hour haha!!! If your happy giving up your evenings then go for it :) xx
