help- problem with 5 yr old

i have had this child since he was 8 months old but have him now at holidays. I only work part time during holidays.
He has been fine all week up until today. I have had o other children here all week apart from said child.
This morning i have had 1 yr old twins arrive who i have during term time and all this 5 yr old has done is sit on the floor and cry saying " he wants his dad and wants to go home"now i know its because of the twins as he was ok when they were asleep and now he has statred crying again now they are awake.
what can i do. I have got the 5yr old all over half term plus the twins

Sounds like he just needs lots of reassurance, to have 2 little ones taking your time away from him (in his eyes) must be hard for him. Lots of helping, praising and encouragement.

I would just ignore it,, he will just have to get used to it,, i'm sure he cant be the only one at school in the classroom so he must be used to other children,,, maybe you could put some pasta or somthing in a messy tray and encourgage them all to play together.
