Hi All

As a fairly new childminder I would like to over the next few years work towards a recognised qualification that will help me in my childminding. I'm thinking the level 3 diploma but a lot of people also mention the foundation degree.

Which qualification is best?

How do I go about getting on it?

Is it likely i could get funding and how would I get it?

You need the level 3 before you go for a Foundation Degree usually... check with your local training centre.

There isn't much funding left sadly but you should always ask!

Thank you Sarah - would it be best to get my teeth into childminding a bit more before I through myself into a course? I feel quite inexperienced with putting everything into practice so don't know whether I would struggle with the content or whether a course is exactly what I need! Is that the level 3 diploma titled 'children and young people's workforce' ? Thank you
