Having a dim moment here:rolleyes:

I have quite a few contracts where I am paid mileage by the LA to collect the children. They pay me childcare fees and mileage combined. In this case am I right in thinking I put down what they pay me in income and then continue to claim the 40p (for last year) a mile through my own expenses?

Secondly I have several roles where I get expenses paid. As these are connected with my childminding role and they go through my business account do I need to show me paying them out in my expenses and then the money that is paid back to me as income?

Cheers!

Exactly right in both cases :D

Note that because of the way the HMRC concession is worded ("10% of total childminding income"), you can claim 10% wear and tear allowance on all of this income even though it has nothing to do with wear and tear of your furniture. Logic and fairness have very little to do with tax, it is the rules that count and sometimes that works in your favour!
