Do we need to do one for every single outing?
I have one titled 'Walking in Public Areas' I thought this would cover every place we walked to. Is this not the case?
If I do have to do one for every outing ie, school, library, children centre, supermarket, they are all going to say the same thing they will just have a different title. All the risks are going to be the same - surely???

Not always...
For example we have 2 parks near us, one is very toddler friendly, the other has a ten foot high slide with a really pathetic guard around the top (I'd actually thought these had been banned!) and a climbing frame with lots of 'fall off' points...
I do a 'going to the park' RA then list local parks and add any additional risks such as the slide and how I will keep children safe.
other things are pretty generic, for example going to tots and coffee or tots and tea, same building, same people different days different names...

You need to risk assess each and every outing that you undertake but they do not have to be in writing. :)

If you think your 'Walking in public areas covers the risks - then leave it as it is - if you come across anything that is a risk to the children in your care - record what the risk was and what it was that you did to keep the children safe.
If you found either now or in the future that you RA does not cover all situations - review it and make the necessary changes.
