I have the NCMA purple box, but do we HAVE to lock contracts, child record forms etc, or just keep them somewhere safe and private?

It is considered good practice to have them locked up yes.

Mine are in a box file - each child's in seperate folder. Box file is kept in kitchen but is not locked. Mrs.P was fine about it.

I think the layout of your house has a bearing - my kitchen is at the back of the house and is not accessible by visitors / parents without me knowing.

Mine are on a shelf in the study. The study can be locked. ( quite often isn't but it can be :D )

Mine are in the NCMA box that can be locked. In reality it rarely is as I'm in and out of it so often. But if Ofsted were coming it would be locked, yes.
