I mentioned in another thread yesterday that a little boy hits and throws a lot. It's pretty bad and constant. So people said, perhaps a throwing schema and I have searched for info on it but can't find anything useful. There was a link to a website on an old thread on here but it won't load now.

Any info?

i have this book..it really makes sense of schemas and gives you ideas of how to extend them.

i have a LO with a throwing or trajectory schema. w eplay skittles, bean bags into baskets and we watch things roll. water down shutes and cars on the hot wheels track.

i had to explain to mum about how he is learning and i gave her this leaflet
see attachment.

I will definitely look into that. I did find some stuff after googling the right words in the end and my training has all come back to me. I didn't remember them as schemas - I remembered them as the building blocks for learning (I did leave Uni in 1998!)

So, I really think that I can help this little boy now. He definitely likes rolling things down ramps, throwing, pushing things along, etc. So, Mum was really receptive and we are going to do lots of things to either develop his understanding of these things and hopefully move him on from randomly throwing things (at others!)

Sorted!

Thanks Parsley, for your input. I would love to go look at Penn Green.
