So my Tuff Spot I ordered ages ago from TTS has finally arrived.
I have lots of ideas that I would love to use it for but my smallest mindee (21 m) still puts everything in mouth, so I have to be careful (no to soil, shaving foam, sand...:( ) so I knew you lot would have some fab ideas instead!

Mindees are 21 m, 25m and 3 1/2. What can I do tomorrow??:)

Large dried pasta, shredded paper, selection of materials and different fabrics/natural objects to explore, water, jelly, gloop. We also use ours for small world play- farm, dinosaur worlds, sealife, construction site, towns... You can use thin scarves in different colours for "sand", "sea", "grass" etc to create different small world play along with shiny paper etc to look at reflections using light.

at our local childrens centre they regularly have baked beans or spaghett/hoops in them and the children love it. Its really messy so i usually strip them down to their nappy and pre-warn parents so they dont get a shock at pick up time to see it caked in their childs hair:D

A tuff spot is basically a builders tray that they use for mixing small amounts of cement but they have become popular as trays for children to play in

this is a good book for more ideas

Thanks for the ideas, I have a rice krispie mountain in the cereal cupboard (dd went off them after I'd bulk bought!) so thats what'll be going in it today...in the garden methinks  Am going to get ds old bob the builder diggers out to play with in it! Yippee!
