I was just wondering how many hours everyone does a week and does anyone work weekends.

We work Mon - Friday
Start at 7.30 and finish at 18.30 (11 hrs) and yes this is everyday

Thankfully because there is 2 of us we normally can get a 10-15 minute break :clapping:

I feel really lazy now as work three days a week, one full and two half days (mindees at nursery) and then work everynight from school pick up to 5.30. suits me.

funnily enough i have just been on the phone to tax credits who wanted to know how many hours i did...

told her i did a 55 hour week

she nearly fell off her chair...i had to explain i was self employed etc.

on a positive note i massively over estimated my income for last year (i forgot to take off all my expenses) so i might get some money soon!!!

heres hoping eh?

I do a 55 hour week but then spend the weekends at car boot sales/charity shops/craft fairs looking for resources. I always seem to be in childminder mode and never switch off.

I can really relate to this, our weekends seem to be the same, wouldn't have it any other way though

I work 8 to 5.30 3 days a week and school runs only on the other days.

But then there's paperwork and shopping (lots of shopping :D ) for childminding stuff and research (especially on the forum) so really it's a full time job!

Monday and Tuesday 12 - 14.45, thursdays 08.30 - 14.45... so not much at all really!! I'd like to do a bit more - as in have another two children the same time as the one on Monday and Tuesday. But that's about it! I will be working the occasional friday from September. TBH I don't want to work at all but childminding is something I think you need to do almost full time to make it worthwhile (moneywise).

I do 7.45am - 6pm mon-fri, with Wednesday afternoon off, well 2hrs off before pick up. Have been asked to do weekends but thats my 'me' time and family time.

Mon-Fri, normally 7.30-6pm, with the occasional 6.30 finish and even more occasional 5pm finish.
Thankfully haven't been asked to do w/ends for a long time, might do the odd one but wouldn't do it on a regular basis.

And I have just finished a contract where I was starting work at 5.50am for shift workers 3 days a week, so relieved I don't do that anymore!

I work 8am to 4pm on Mondays, 8.30am to 5pm on Wednesdays and 8.30am to 3.30pm on Thursdays. So 23.5 hours.
From September i'll be doing various shifts for a new family on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays- so including my current hours, sometimes i'll be working from 7am to 5pm, sometimes 8.30am to 5.30pm, and sometimes 8.30am to 8.30pm!

i used to do 8.30-6pm, 5 days/week , all year round, then 7.30 to 6pm but with some time off in school holidays..

Now I do 0730 - 1730, most of my children go home at 4pm just have littlies and my own kids after 4pm, I have thursday off (paperwork/study day) and also only work 2/3 days in the holidays. It's like a different job and I'd never go back to what I did before.:)

makes me sounds like a right slacker doesnt it

7.40am to 6pm or 6.30pm, Mon-Fri. Some days up to 9 children for dinner (I work with an assistant).

So 55 hours a week. Friday afternoons are not so busy though. From 12.30pm today, I only had 2 mindees plus DD.

I open from 6am until 20.30pm 7 days a week - I am not always used at those times, but I have to be like that as I care for numerous children who's parents/carers are nurses at the hospital and work shifts! I do often get one morning and a different afternoon off in a week though, so that's nice. x

Last year I worked 7.30 - 5.30pm monday to friday. This year I do 8am to 5pm monday to friday - although at the moment I finish at 4 on a monday. I find it far easier to start at 8am than 7.30 - I was never really ready, DS1 and 2 were never quite dressed, and the day never seemed to start very smoothly. The last half hour of the day always seemed bad too - mindee would not eat, wanted to go home, DS1 and 2 would play up at tea time.
Now, mindees go at 5pm leaving me to sort out house and DS1 and 2 before DH gets home and house again descends into chaos!!

I plan to do 4 days a week too and wondered if that cuts your market down quite severely? Do you always have to turn down fullltimers and isn't that a problem?

cheers

no you don't hon. actually it seems that most parents seem to work part-time or only require part-time care now (due to family help/shift working partners). I had one fulltime request recently, told them I don't work Thurs and mum has decided to go with me and put baby into nursery for the one other day.

It's good to have that day to catch up on paperwork, do the shopping or just put your feet up/spend the day with your own kids.:D

good luck.x

I work 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday (sometimes 6.30 if trains are delayed and parents are late) so 55 hours a week!

We do work hard don't we, but I love this job and wouldn't want to do anything else! :jump for joy:

Big pats on the back for us all!!!
