Childminders can work together in one house and how many children you can have, subject to approval by Ofsted, before you are considered to be a Nursery and not a small business?

Thanks guys and hope you are all having a lovely and peaceful weekend.

I don't know if this helps, but this is what the Ofsted factsheet says:

Information about childcare on domestic premises
You need to apply to provide childcare on domestic premises if you want to provide childcare where four or more people work together caring for children on any one day. Some examples of this are:

 a childminder who employs three or more assistants to work with them

 three or fewer childminders who work on the same premises and employ assistants to help them which makes the number of people who work together at least four.

Some local councils will have their own rules on this. Our area does not allow more than 6 minded children at an address. If you want to mind more in this area you will need to apply for planning permission and change of use on the premises.
