Can I still claim working tax credit if I no longer have any of my own children dependant on me. They are either at uni or working.

I'm pretty sure it would depend on your income, call them and ask:) You wouldn't get the child element but could be entitled to some help anyway.

My partner's tax credits stopped when his youngest left college.

I would ring them and check you don't want to have to pay them back x

Yes you can, I do and I do not have any dependants. I live alone with only one wage coming in so as Jay Jay said it will depend on your income.

Tax credits is not just for people with children.

Thanks everyone for your replies, as you say its best to check, dont want to have to repay anything.

Its making me feel old though because all my sons (I have 5) are grown up and independant. Where did all those years go lol.

I live alone and when my daughter went to uni obviously the childrens tax credits stopped but because childminding is my main source of income i am able to claim working tax credits

there is a tax credit calculator on the tax credit website
