wanting to become a childminder

Hi Guys,

Just a quick one (probably posting in wrong part of forum, but hey).

Was just wanting to know from you all how you found your training, advertising, setting prices etc? the general role of childminding.

I am facing redundancy in my current employment, and after my one year old had an accident in Nursery I am considering my options as setting up in Childminding.

I know its not something to do on a whim and it is a serious business, but I have been giving it some serious thought.

Hi. The first thing I would suggest you do is do some market research in your area and find out how many childminders there are local to you and also what their childcare vacancies are. I know in my area there are lots of people wanting to become childminders because of the current climate but there are very few people at present looking for childcare.:)
