People are so rude!!

They tell you they want you and please can you hold the spaces - they'll be in touch as soon as they know definite hours to sign contracts... then you hear nothing. You try to contact them and leave messages, and they don't even have the courtesy to say "thanks but we don't need you anymore, you can let the spaces go!"

Aargh! Drives me crazy!!

Yes it is very rude and unfortunately I think we have all had people like this let us down at some point. I learned after my first year of minding that if I were to hold a space open for someone then I had to get a deposit.

I only hold places for people who have signed a contract and paid a 4 weeks fees Deposit.

Ditto ... no deposit no space being held. I always make it VERY clear to prospective parents on their first visit.

I'll only guarantee a place now if parents pay a four week deposit - I find this sorts out those who are serious and those who are time wasters ;)
