I'm in the process of re-mortgaging my house as part of my divorce.

I had an offer in principal, but today they have changed my mind once they realised I'm a childminder and work from home  . They say it's because my house is "semi-commercial"

Has anyone ever come across this before?

My mortgage man doesn't seem too fussed by it and has told me he's moved it over to another company and that it will all be fine.

I'm in a right panic :panic: as I really need to secure the mortgage so I can buy my ex out. :(

Never heard that one before, however I have been told by an HP company that childminding is not deemed to be full time employment! 50 hours a week plus extra for paperwork (and forum trawling) how much more full time can you get!

Some companies do have strange rules about childminders ... your mortgage broker seems to know what he is talking about.

Hope he gets it sorted :D
