Are you currently looking for children to care for? Wondering what you can do to fill your spaces? You may find the following tips useful.

•Place adverts in local shop windows, toddlers groups, pre-schools and schools.

•Talk to other local childminders. They sometimes have to turn down children as they have no vacancies.

•Get some business cards and postcards printed to hand out. A website like Vista Print provide on line templates. You can get printing for as little as £15.

•Look at social network sites such as Facebook to advertise on. You can set your own budget and can target the advert to your local area which is not expensive to do.

•Try your local newspaper or magazine, another inexpensive way.

•Register on www. childcare.co.uk. This is the biggest website in the UK for parents looking for childminders.

•Let all your friends know that you have vacancies. They may have friends or friends of friends (just read this back….that’s a lot of friends) looking for a childminder.

•See if you can put an advert in your local doctor’s surgery. Where do a lot of expectant mums visit?

•When you meet someone new slip it into the conversation that you are a childminder with vacancies.

And remember, this is your business, so promote it every chance that you get. Whatever budget you set and spend to gain business you will gain this back very quickly once you have a child.

Good luck and we wish you every success.

Have a great day.
