paying tax.......confused or wot?????

Been a childminder since 2009. I'm a widow and get a small private pension. Since paying tax as a childminder it was taken monthly from the pension. I noticed no payment was taken this month, it's usually about £50 per month. Had letter from tax office yesterday to say i have a bill of £662 which has to be paid within a month. Phoned to ask why it is no longer being taken from pension, man kindly explained 3 times and i'm still totally confused.

My pension, income and tax bill have more or less remained the same so really dont understand.

Luckily i have enough in emergency savings to pay the bill

I haven't a clue but why don't you go back again and ask for it to be put in writing and then you can sit down and digest it at your leisure
