Garden Cane eye guards

Hi sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place.

The lo's have planted sunflowers and now they need garden canes to keep them upright. I am worried about the tops of the canes. I know you can buy cane guards infact I have found some on ebay for £1.50 for 10. I wondered is anyone had a great tip on what I can ut on the top for now. Something that doesnt look appealing to children and something that is likely to stay put.

I use plastic drinks bottles if we have to use canes for any reason. Cheap and they make a fab noise in the wind:D

Do the children not keep taking them off? I have a couple of pots on my decking that the children will be able to reach

upside down plant pots - the children could even paint sunflowers on them.
Old wellies look cute too.
Pingpong or ballpool balls work well but children might want to pull them off.

I just use very long canes , much too high for my eyes let alone mindees!

Fromage frai pots ie petite filous with blob of blue tack inside.:thumbsup: And if little ones go to remove them you say" no dont touch thank you" :)

i use a combination of pop bottles and ball pool balls.


all work well

children are told not to touch and then they stop trying.

Some of the canes I have are short and I need to use one in a pot on the decking (lo's sunflowers) where the children play. im a little bit over cautious :blush:

I have cane caps but have found the same as Dragonfly fromage frais pots and blue-tac works just as well.

Maybe a bit over cautious for some people but, If i didnt wear glasses i would be minus a eye:) Im clumsy and sometimes you just dont see things.
