I had to buy a new work laptop as my old one broke. DH sourced one and bought it on his credit card and I have given him the cash for it.

My question is, the receipt has his name and work address (for delivery) on so how can I prove it's actually for my business?
Should I get DH to do me a receipt for the money I paid him, or can I just write on his original receipt that I have paid him cash?

I don't really know but I often buy things from ebay using hubby's account. I just print off the details and put them in my tax folder.

Sorry, I know that's probably not much use to you!

I can't see it being a problem if you were ever audited by IR then you would have the laptop as proof, you could prove it is hubby's name and work address on it. I like your idea though of hubby giving you a receipt for your cash but if you are worried about how to do it ring IR and ask them. Also think I saw an accountant had posted on here so he may be able to help you out
