Hi another newbie question. I see posts about assistants etc and my 2 grown girls are gonna help me in the uni holidays once I start. How many children are we allowed with an assistant? Space permitting of course.......and how about if you have 2 assistants? Are some people running would be nursery type groups from their house with 3 adults? Is it 6 children under 6 per adult?

cheers

Hello

A childminder can work with up to 2 others (making 3 adults in total) . However it is planning permission that may limit the number of children you have in total as lots of areas have a limit of 6 without planning permission - and a limit even when do have planning permission.

I work with an assistant or my co minder but my registration is for 6 children under 8 - this means we can have 6 under 5 which is what we do but if we took on school age children aged up to 8 as well we would have to apply for planning permission and a change to our registration.
